Since its founding in 1937, Banner has been able to position itself and its product portfolio firmly on the market. The wishes and needs of customers, employees, suppliers and society have always been paramount. These values are also embodied in the "Energy Solutions" business unit.
Responsible handling of our environment.
Carefully considered planning conserves resources.
It began with taking on an existing factory instead of constructing a new one that would have meant sealing additional land in the region. At our location in Thalheim, we’ve opted for the use of energy-saving LED lamps. The entire building is heated using the waste heat from the Wels waste incinerator.
Another sign of our environmental awareness is that the batteries from Energy Solutions have the highest collection rate among all recyclable goods due to their closed recycling loop. We encourage this by having a very well developed returns network.

Measures for a pleasant work environment.
High demands were placed on the lighting in the halls, and not just in terms of saving energy. Planned by a lighting designer, the LED lighting provides very good yet pleasant and eye-friendly illumination of the workstations.
The various workstations have their own cranes to avoid heavy lifting. In order to largely eliminate dust and noise pollution when working with the saw, an insulated room with extraction system was specially created for this purpose. Very low noise pollution was therefore achieved in the production hall.

Environmentally friendly measures only make sense if they are practised on a daily basis.
The environmental concept not only forms the basis of our company location, but is also reflected in our daily work processes. With these services, we also want to be a competent and, above all, environmentally friendly partner for our customers at service level.
Battery transport and collection network
Our contribution to climate and environmental protection
Our network, through which new batteries are delivered, is also used to reliably collect used batteries and send them for recycling. In the recycling plants, used batteries are dismantled and their components separated before the recycling process can begin.
Lead
Lead-containing constituents and lead oxide are used in the production of new batteries. New lead grids are also produced from recycled lead.
Plastic
Plastic battery casings and covers are collected and shredded. The plastic pellets obtained from this process are used in the production of new casings and covers.
Electrolyte
Used electrolyte is processed into sodium sulphate. This is used as a solid in textile, glass, cleaning and fertiliser production.

Energy Solutions is aware of its responsibility towards the environment and future generations.
For this reason, the environmental policy is adopted, implemented and monitored at the highest management level as a key strategic management tool. The current formulation of the environmental policy, which has been signed off as valid by the management, is known to all employees and accessible to everyone.
