FULL CHARGE WHILE DRIVING SUFFICIENT?
Can I charge the on-board battery in the camper sufficiently while driving?
Based on our experience, we know that sufficient charging while driving is unfortunately only possible to a very limited extent. Especially in summer (air conditioning on max, lighting on, radio on, fridge running, etc.), there is little power left for a full charge of a battery. In some cases, the living area batteries even have to support the on-board electrical system.
Treat your battery to an extra boost of external recharging with a Banner Accucharger PRO. This is especially recommended before your next trip.
A good way is to use a professional charger (e.g. Banner Accucharger PRO). These chargers manage to raise the charging voltage to a reasonable level.
For example, if your battery is discharged to approx. 50% (assumption 95 Ah missing), approx. 105 Ah must be recharged to get the battery full.
In the best case, 15 A (on average) remain for the living area battery. To fully charge the batteries, you would now have to drive your vehicle for at least 7 hours (!).
Banner tip:
To get the maximum life out of the batteries, please ensure that they are completely disconnected from the on-board electrical system when the motorhome is not in use (>7 days). The battery should be fully charged beforehand.
